This is the first time i've come home and actually really not enjoyed myself. Apart from seeing my family/friends and getting my braces done I really regret even coming here. I'm making a promise to myself right now; never return to Gippsland during the winter, EVER.
Oh did I mention apart from this week my life is pretty much perfect at the moment?

Johanne Frances Lyons
Seeing as it is her birthday today its only fitting that the second day of the month shall be dedicated to my mother. I have so much to be thankful to this woman for. One of the strongest, smartest, self-aware people I have ever and probably will ever know. I miss her 'different' cooking, not having to bother looking up my star-signs, being woken up on a weekend by her random music and she would clean the house(singing), having intellegent conversations, the funny arguments(that I would usually win) and I guess the different way she raised me in general. So maybe she didn't make my lunch or my bed everyday, but she did make me as independent as I am today and that to me, is priceless. Happy Birthday Joh. Love your Son.

Charlotte Abagile Griffen
Fuck the rivalry with New Zealand, everybody needs at least 1 kiwi friend. I have the pleasure of being able to hang out with more then a few of these crazy bastards and they're easily some of the funniest people I've met. Lottie is no exception, she could beat me up and then make me laugh so hard I cry within the space of two minutes(average estimate). We run an absolute muck destroying herb gardens, late night swimming, being naughty at work('Your so naughty man'), owning the dancefloor at the club('Step-aside mutherf*&^) and attracting a vast amount of noise complaints(only at Jaleesa's house of course!) Sorry, sorry about that.

Christmas
For me Christmas has always been a time when all I want to do is spend time with my friends and family. This is the first year where I will be spending hardly any time with both categories so in order to cheer myself up I've decided to dedicated one blog a day to 25 of the speacial people in my life, hoping that it will make me feel closer to home & grateful of the new friends I've made this year.

Too Much
I've had too much going on to attend to this lately which annoyes me because now theres too much to write and I can't be bothered.
Heres the shortened version.
Went home, got drunk lots. Had an amazing weekend.
Came back work, work, work, drink, drink drink.
Haven't spoken to Brigitte for a long time now and its making me uneasy.
I'm forcing my best friend Jellyfish to move up to Hamilton Island start of next year before we go to Europe. I hope the new Twilight movie and Where the Wild things are are still playing on the 17th of december as I will be back in Traralgon for my sisters 21st and plan to watch them.
I'm on the lunch truck tomorrow so I have to get up at 4am so I'm going to bed.

off my chest.
you tried to play us like puppets,
i guess you wanted what we had know that yours had gone.
you were good i'll give you that,
just spread the poison and sat back and we drove the wedge between each other.
you didn't count on the years of friendship we had,
and you could not keep yourself off the casualties list in this fucked up game.
so who's the winner? i sure don't feel like one myself.
she's alone. your alone. i'm not alone,
but still reminded of the good times and feeling ripped off when i think about
the ones that could've been.
i'm a lucky man, you weren't that subtle,
and whilst you pulled the sheets over my eyes i had people watching my back.
they were there before you came,
and they'll sure as hell be here after no matter how many times you reapear.

Drunk-filtered.
BK: Well my previous post was way far more rational then the average TD to BK drunken phone call back in the day. For the past couple of weeks life has involved little but work and work has been little but mundane. I miss a challange. I'm getting taught new roles and work for the next three weeks and I'm doing my first aid course so hopefully that will provide me some distraction. I'm getting a better idea of what I want to do for the next 12 months after I get off this rock and starting to realise that the lifestyle here is not for me. I saw fireworks the other night down at the Marina and it reminded me of how far away from all the action I really am. I miss you too and can't wait until we can hang out and talk, although I do feel sorry for whoever else might be present, they won't be getting a word in.

BK
I made the mistake of trying to reply to you whilst being drunk and feeling nostalgic. Needless to say that I've pressed back-space 1000 times, shed a few tears and decided to leave it until tomorrrow when I'm not sleep deprived and intoxicated.
I just want you and everyone else who reads this piece of art in progress to know that I miss the people in my life so much right now.

Latte
I don't know who's more annoying, the slim girl who orders the quarter strength skinny latte with 3 fake sugars or the larger girl who orders the skinny latte and two chocolate doughnuts. Where is the voice inside thats saying "Whats the fucking point?"
No I think the old men who come into work and order HOT coffee are the worst. Its unfortunate the company I work for regards customer service as a top priority or I'd be ever so inclined to retailiate with "Well who the fuck orders a cold coffee?" or something along the lines. Ohhhh I see you want it extra hot? Reeeeaaallly hot? Fuckers, heres a nice flat white with burnt curdled milk that no doubt tastes like shit. You asked for it.
"Have a good day Sir"
I could probably go on about how interesting serving Coffees is for a very long time but I'll keep it short for now. Roomie just walked in and now I can't concentrate because he's giving me a FULL run down about his new costume for the Dirty Doctors and Naughty Nurses Party tonight(Fucking Lame, Not attending BTW!) and yes I don't care either.
P.S Slowly getting better. Staff party tommorrow night and seeing Dad Monday.

The Best Thing about a Vegemite Sandwhich
I've been working way to much over the past two weeks.
I haven't had time to do anything and now I'm sick.
Its funny because while I'm at work I have so much time to think that I think of all these things to write about and then I get home and I'm so exhausted that I can't think of anything. I'm craving Mum's Orange and Poppy seed cake and Dad's Spag Bol and Wind's rissotto and I can't have any of it and this really upsets me.
On the bright side 'Little Lion Man' has been coming on the radio nearly every shift at work which has made me very happy, I get to sleep in for the next two days and Dad's coming up next week for a couple of days.
I'm coming home to Victoria for a weeks holiday in January. I never thought I'd be so excited about going to Victoria for a week but I am. I can't wait. It will be summer, Brigitte will be home and Big Day Out will be on.
The best thing about a Vegemite sandwhich is that it tastes the same no matter where in Australia you are.

Remember Me, 'round my home town.
I'm pretty much a week behind on this now.
Went home for the weekend. "Crazy, Alcohol-fueled all-nighters" is the best way to describe probably the first 50hrs. Everything and nothing had changed. People commented on how much weight I'd lost and to be honest it felt fucking fantastic. I worked hard to get back in to shape and it was nice to hear its paid off.
Meagz stuck to me like glue but it still wasn't enough time to make up for 3 and a half months. It was weird seeing everyone at the airport. It didn't sink in that I was home until we were halfway back to Traralgon and I was hit with sudden waves of excitement.
A lot more people made a big effort to come see me then I thought would. I wish I could go back and re-live the weekend, but I know I've got so much to look forward to for the rest of this year. I was going to name this blog "Back to Paradise" but I think that Paradise is not where the palm trees, perfect weather and blue skys are... Paradise is where you can be in gail force winds on a road trip back home and be filled with Euphoria just by the company in the car and the prospect of those who you are about to see.

Where the Wild Things Are.
I have a poster up in my shoe-box sized room of the movie adaptation of "Where the wild things are". I honestly can't remember what the book is about but I remember my Anty Kate telling me it was her favourtie book as a child so I put it up there to remind me of back home.
I've been working crazy hours this week. It feels good when I get my payslip though, but last night at work I really had to keep saying to myself, Europe next year, Europe next year over and over in my head.
This morning I forced myself out of bed at 8.30 because I've been oversleeping on my days off. I went to the gym and then swam at the staff pool and it was a good reminder of why I came up here and how much I do love it.
7 DAYS.

Quick Update
About to run out of internet credit.
Race week is over, thank god!
Now things will go back to normal for a little while.
Still doing heaps of overtime to fund my oversea's trip next year.
Going out in Airlie beach this weekend for a mates birthday, should be a big night!
I'm talking to Brigitte on Skype this very second(first time using Skype I might add). Been swimming a lot, our staff pool area rules(photos soon).
Hired a boat with workmates on Sunday and we saw a pod of whales and one came REALLY close(Again photos soon, be patient!)

How the fuck did I get here? Part 2.
After re-reading my previous post(a href="http://tommythebeat.blogspot.com/2009/08/how-fuck-did-i-get-here.html") about my life right now I feel I have to clear things up. Not for myself, but to all the people that I completely disregarded when writing it. I know myself better then most and I have to say I sounded like a complete Jack-ass when I said "I've basically done it all on my own".
Clearing things up.
I would not have got as far as I have if I had not been granted the support I had through certain friends and family.
Although I didn't word it correctly I MEANT to say that it was such an amazing experience to fly myself to a place where I had no friends or family(Cheree the exception of course) to help me and try to make it on my own. I'm forever gratefull for having Cheree with me for the first month because to this day I don't know how I would have done that on my own. The whole time I think I was in denial about the fact that it could/would be over three months before I was see the people that meant the most to me.
What I was trying to be happy about, was the fact that I left for somewhere I've always wnated to go to, with no financial aid or general guidence from anyone. I'm proud of myself for that, for getting away from my regular routine and things I thought I needed to get by.
My parents were probably more supportive of me then ever towards the end(before I got employed at Hamilton Island) when I was running out of money(and courage) and If it wasn't for them and the inspiration of Brigitte, My Antie Kate ect, I don't know what path I'd be on right now.
So now when I ask the question How the Fuck did I get here?
I actually have an answer for myself.
